Having originally studied at Art College, many full moons ago, I went on to have a wonderful 17 year career in travel. It was on my world travels that I became deeply interested in wellness, and curious about the physical and spiritual rituals and practices of other cultures.
I first came to yoga in 2005 and my own personal practice has reshaped my life over the past 19 years. I love the practice of Yoga and sharing it with others especially children and adults experiencing stress. It really is a science of well-being that has the potential to change lives!
I completed my first Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh India, and after many visits and Ashram stays there, I began teaching in 2017. Since then, I have continued to study, practice and teach yoga in both London and Belfast. As well as completing additional training in Integral Sound Healing with the Sound Healing Academy in Dublin.
I currently split my time between working for a humanitarian organisation and teaching and facilitating yoga classes and sound workshops across Northern Ireland where I’m based.

It truly was a journey back to love for me. The experience was incredible. It was my first retreat and when Aideen told me she was thinking about organising a retreat I was super excited. I was ready to embark on this journey. It was 5 days of getting to know the real me and creating the most amazing friendships that will last for a long time. I arrived home feeling totally refreshed, feeling internally stronger and in a much better place having learnt to deal with issues differently and with a totally different mindset – much calmer and tolerant to what’s going on around me. The whole experience was intoxicating in that we had the perfect balance between planned activities and personal reflection time. The accommodation and food was exceptional, Simone, our chef, was not only an exceptional creative chef but a beautiful person who cared and always had a smile on her face. We were introduced to a new activity called Macrame and I have to say my mind did not wander at all as I was fixated on this. Frustrating at the start but by the end I did not want to stop. It was so good for the mind and you get something very beautiful at the end to take away. Ilke you are a fantastic, patient teacher, thank you. The ambience every single day was relaxed, feeling totally safe and allowing yourself to be vulnerable. Ciara provided a yoga practice that I’ve never experienced before. Enabling me to feel and move my body, feeling empowered and ready to start the day or feeling so relaxed a nightcap wasn’t needed as I slept like a baby. The memories I’ve made are just wonderful from experiencing the love within the group, allowing yourself to relax and enjoy every single second. Aideen is a wonderful teacher with a passion that shines through in everything she does creating the perfect environment to wind down and enjoy the journey back to love Thank you Aideen for organising such a fulfilling retreat and thank you to Ciara. You are both beautiful people, inside and out.

Aideen and Ciara held such a beautiful space for Journey Back To Love Bringing together a beautiful group of women. We had the perfect mix of powerful yoga practices, meditations, beautiful circles & ceremonies along with lots of laughs & nourishing food I think I can speak for everyone when I say it does exactly what it says on the tin... we were facilitated on a journey back to love. Not just love for ourselves but also the love between the group and for the ripple effect of that into our lives I know I came home a better version of myself, part of a new sisterhood. So much gratitude for you Aideen, and every single person that was a part of this for us to have had such a special experience Can't wait for the next one 💗✨
Back home after a transformative five days and nights in Alicante with the Sisterhood. The retreat 'Journey Back To Love' was a soulful journey filled with self reflection, self love, deep relaxation, meditation, a sacred cacao ceremony, sound bath, sunrise meditations, sea swims and journaling. It was a beautiful opportunity to pause, reconnect, and renew my spirit. Immense gratitude to @aideen.carmichael for guiding us through such a joyful experience. Her yoga instruction is both powerful and grounding, pushing you to find strength and balance within. I can't recommend this retreat enough-it was truly just what | needed. Feeling deeply refreshed and thankful.

"I feel like the term "yoga class" is not the adequate word for the sessions with Aideen. It is not merely an exercise class, or practice for yoga; though it is definitely both of those things, too! The session feels like a spiritual experience; a way to connect your mind and your body, and a period of time devoted to spending time with yourself, inwardly conversing between all elements of your self and allowing space to heal, energise and rest all at once. Aideen has a beautiful energy which both accommodates and guides the rest of us at the session, creating a safe and strong environment.
